CDC Launches 'Rx Awareness' Campaign to Combat Opioid Crisis
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has initiated Rx Awareness, a communications campaign addressing prescription opioid misuse. The program shares the experiences of individuals recovering from opioid use disorder, as well as those who have lost family members to prescription opioid overdose.
Rx Awareness aims to raise awareness about the dangers of prescription opioids. Campaign materials will be distributed to states to aid in their prevention efforts.
By featuring personal stories, the CDC intends to connect with audiences on an emotional level. The campaign is intended to reduce opioid misuse and encourage safer prescribing practices.
