CDC Data Shows Adult Obesity Rates Remain High Across States

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention analyzed data indicating that adult obesity rates remained high in every state as of 2010. Researchers determined that in every state, at least 20 percent of adults were classified as obese.

The CDC confirmed that no state managed to meet the Healthy People 2010 objective. The Healthy People 2010 program sought to lower obesity prevalence to, at most, 15 percent in each state over the prior decade.
