The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Detroit Pistons in overtime, achieving their first road victory of the postseason. This win gives the Cavaliers a 3-2 lead in the series, positioning them for an Eastern Conference Finals berth.
The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Detroit Pistons in overtime, securing a 3-2 series lead. The Cavaliers achieved their first road win of the postseason at Little Caesars Arena.
Detroit's head coach J.B. Bickerstaff cited a missed foul call in the final moments of regulation. Bickerstaff stated that Jarrett Allen tripped Ausar Thompson on a loose ball play. A foul call would have sent Thompson to the free-throw line with a chance to win the game for the Pistons.
This incident follows previous officiating discussions within the series. Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson previously commented on a lack of foul calls for his team. Bickerstaff then suggested Atkinson's comments influenced subsequent free-throw disparities between the two teams.
Cleveland will host Game 6, with an opportunity to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
