Detroit held a nine-point advantage late in the fourth quarter but failed to score in the final three minutes of regulation. They missed their last six shots and committed two shot-clock violations during this period.
The Cavaliers out-fouled the Pistons 26-16 and attempted 18 more free throws. Daniss Jenkins, making his first career playoff start, contributed 19 points for Detroit. The Cavaliers maintain a perfect 6-0 home record in these playoffs, hosting Game 6.
