Casper the Friendly Ghost's Home Media Journey: From VHS to DVD

Casper the Friendly Ghost's home media releases have provided fans with access to his adventures across various formats since 1990. These collections allowed generations to enjoy the beloved character's friendly antics long after their initial theatrical runs.

Warner Home Video first released Casper's original theatrical short films and cartoons in 1990 with 'The Best of Casper Vol 1-3' on VHS. This collection featured all 33 of his theatrical shorts. In 2001, Warner Home Video re-released a similar compilation, 'The Best of Casper Greatest Favorites', which was available on both VHS and DVD.

A more comprehensive collection arrived in 2011 when Shout! Factory released the DVD set 'Casper The Friendly Ghost: The Complete Collection 1945-1963'. This extensive set included classic shorts such as 'The Friendly Ghost', 'There's Good Boos To-Night', and 'A Haunting We Will Go'. The Shout! Factory collection also contained 55 theatrical cartoons and all 26 episodes of 'The New Casper Cartoon Show'.
