Campbellton Mourns Wanda Goldsmith-McKinnie, 58, Beloved Lifelong Resident and Community Pillar

Campbellton lost a cherished member of its community with the passing of Wanda Goldsmith-McKinnie, who died peacefully on July 15, 2026, at the age of 58. She was in Hartford, Alabama, at her daughter's residence, surrounded by her two devoted daughters, after a three-year battle with cancer.

A lifelong resident of Campbellton and Laurel Hill, Florida, Wanda was born on May 13, 1968, in Laurel Hill to the late Houston and Juanita Goldsmith. Her faith formed the foundation of her life. She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Laurel Hill, a church established by her grandfather. There, she served the Lord daily and was known as a devoted prayer warrior for her family, friends, and anyone in need.

Wanda's greatest joy was her family. She dedicated her life to raising her four children with unwavering love, strength, and compassion. She married Randolph L. McKinnie, Sr. on October 26, 2011, and they made their home together in Campbellton.

Wanda possessed extraordinary culinary talents, finding happiness in preparing meals that brought her family together. Her warm spirit, generous heart, and loving nature touched everyone she knew. She is survived by her son, Willie Goldsmith (Valerie Perkins) of Laurel Hill; daughters Sharday Burden (Leviticus) of Dothan, Alabama, Sheneka Harrison (Joel Walker) of Hartford, Alabama, and Brianna Goldsmith (Devonte Parrish) of Dothan, Alabama. She also leaves behind stepsons Randy McKinnie (Shanta) of Campbellton and Randolph L. McKinnie, Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland. Her legacy continues through numerous grandchildren and one great-grandson, Zy'aire. Wanda is also survived by three brothers, Robert Toles (Connee Watson) of Crestview, Florida, Richard Toles of Laurel Hill, and Willie Toles, Jr. of Lockhart, Alabama; and two sisters, Pamela Womack of Laurel Hill and Diane Goldsmith (Willie Bradberry) of Laurel Hill, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, including Renee Patterson and Charlotte Pittman.

Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randolph L. McKinnie, Sr., her parents, Houston and Juanita Goldsmith, and her brothers, Wonderful Toles and Jimmy Goldsmith. Her legacy of faith, unconditional love, kindness, and selfless service will continue to live on through all who knew her.
