Butler Women's Club Volleyball Claims National Title in Kansas City

INDIANAPOLIS — On April 11, Butler University's women's club volleyball team clinched the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation national championship in Kansas City, Missouri, defeating the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse 25-17, 25-17 in the final. The Bulldogs dominated from the start, crushing opponents over two days and five matches to return home undefeated with gold medals. Butler's Hailey Pierce earned tournament MVP honors, while teammate Meghan Riordan received honorable mention recognition.

The path to the title included decisive pool play victories: 25-14, 25-12 over UW-Oshkosh and 25-20, 25-17 over UW-River Falls, setting up the championship showdown. This triumph marks Butler's continued excellence in club volleyball, having won championships in two of the last three years prior to this event. The team's success highlights the strength of Indianapolis-area club sports, drawing from Hinkle Fieldhouse talent and local recruiting.

Unlike Butler's NCAA Division I women's volleyball program, which finished the 2025 season 12-14 overall and 5-8 in Big East play with a loss to UConn on Nov. 7, the club squad operates independently and competes in the NCVF. The national win elevates Butler's profile in Indiana college athletics, where club programs often rival varsity squads in achievement and community impact.
