Brooksville Parks and Recreation Announces New Recreational Gymnastics Classes
Brooksville residents looking for new ways to stay active and develop coordination will be pleased to hear that the Brooksville Parks and Recreation Department is launching a series of recreational gymnastics classes. The new program, designed for various age groups, aims to provide an accessible and fun introduction to gymnastics fundamentals.
Classes will be held at the Brooksville Community Center on historic Main Street, utilizing the newly acquired mats and balance beams. The department has invested in equipment suitable for beginner and intermediate levels, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all participants. This initiative comes as part of the department's ongoing effort to expand community wellness and youth development programs.
The curriculum will focus on basic tumbling, balance, flexibility, and strength building, taught by certified instructors. Age-appropriate sessions will be available for children aged 4-6 (Tiny Tumblers), 7-10 (Junior Gymnasts), and 11-14 (Youth Acrobats). Each session will run for eight weeks, with classes meeting once a week in the evenings.
Registration for the inaugural sessions is set to open on Monday, April 22, 2026, at 9:00 AM. Interested families can sign up online through the Brooksville Parks and Recreation Department's official website or in person at the Community Center during regular business hours. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged to secure a spot.
This new offering provides a fantastic opportunity for Brooksville's youth to explore a dynamic sport, build confidence, and make new friends right here in town. For more information on class schedules, fees, and registration details, residents are encouraged to contact the Brooksville Parks and Recreation Department directly.
