British Columbia Declares State of Emergency Amid Wildfire Surge

VICTORIA, British Columbia – Premier David Eby announced a provincial state of emergency in British Columbia. The announcement came as over 100 wildfires burned across the province, with close to half of them designated as out of control.

Favorable conditions for fire activity, including hot temperatures, strong winds, and an extended drought, have contributed to the situation.
