Bobcat Breaks Ground on $9.5M West Fargo HQ Expansion
WEST FARGO, N.D. — U.S. Sen. John Hoeven joined Bobcat Company and Doosan executives Tuesday for a ceremonial groundbreaking on a $9.5 million expansion of the company's North America headquarters here, a move to accommodate rapid growth in compact loader production. The project doubles the facility's square footage and employee capacity from its 2000-built structure, consolidating administration, product development, sales and marketing teams previously scattered across the Fargo area.
Company leaders emphasized the expansion's role in driving innovation and operational efficiency to sustain global leadership in compact equipment, a staple of North Dakota's agriculture and construction industries. The state-of-the-art addition mirrors upgrades at Bobcat's $28 million Acceleration Center in Bismarck, completed in 2014, and targets LEED certification for sustainable design and construction. Rising demand for Bobcat loaders, vital to local farmers and contractors from the Red River Valley to the Badlands, prompted the investment.
Scheduled for completion in late summer 2016, the expansion positions West Fargo — home to over 1,000 Bobcat workers statewide — as a hub for the company's North American operations. Officials say the enhanced collaborative spaces will boost productivity in a region where manufacturing drives 10% of the state's economy.
