BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Day.News) — Birmingham police announced arrests in multiple robbery cases this week, capturing two men in separate incidents in the city's eastern sector. Samuel Bolton, charged with first-degree robbery, fraudulent use of a credit card and possession of a pistol by a forbidden person, was arrested following a Saturday robbery on 14th Avenue South. The victim sustained no injuries, and Bolton is held in Jefferson County Jail, according to Birmingham Police Department reports via ABC 33/40.
In a Tuesday incident on Parkway East, Boubacar Diallo was apprehended at the scene without resistance and charged with third-degree robbery. The victim suffered minor injuries. Diallo is being transported to Jefferson County Jail, marking another swift response by officers in Birmingham's high-crime eastern areas.
Separate arrests targeted a string of armed robberies focusing on Hispanic victims. Jermaine Turner, 20, of Center Point, and Julia Sanders, 22, of Birmingham, were taken into custody Friday with assistance from Homewood police. Each faces first-degree robbery charges, with additional counts possible as investigators link them to several recent holdups, per police statements and local broadcasts.
A man was also arrested in connection to multiple armed robberies citywide, as confirmed by the Birmingham Police Department. These cases underscore ongoing efforts to curb violent crime in Birmingham, Alabama's urban core, where robberies have spiked in recent months amid economic pressures in Jefferson County.
