Birmingham Police Arrest 22-Year-Old in Capital Murder of Chaddrick Thomas

Speed now faces capital murder charges—the state's most serious felony—along with counts of attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, all related to Thomas' death. Speed was initially placed on a 48-hour felony extension at the Birmingham City Jail while charges were processed. Williams was charged with murder, while Freeman faces a charge of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
