Residents and visitors to San Diego County Coastal Areas and Orange County Coastal Areas should take immediate precautions due to a Beach Hazards Statement and Coastal Flood Advisory issued by the National Weather Service San Diego CA. The Beach Hazards Statement is effective until tonight, October 11, 2026, and the Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect until 2 PM PDT Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect through Sunday evening, with surf ranging from 5 to 7 feet and local sets up to 8 feet. This will create a high risk of rip currents and dangerous swimming conditions. The Coastal Flood Advisory, active through Tuesday afternoon, anticipates minor coastal flooding.

Expected impacts include the flooding of coastal lots, parks, and roads during morning high tides. While only isolated road closures are anticipated, travelers should allow extra time for commutes. Drivers are urged not to drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Property owners in flood-prone areas should take necessary actions to protect their property.

For personal safety, residents are advised to remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions. High tides are expected to diminish into the middle of next week.
