Baby Born to Surrogate Now With Biological Parents Amid Legal Dispute

A baby born Wednesday in Texas now lives with his biological parents. The surrogate who carried the pregnancy delivered the infant in Texas. This delivery occurred after the biological parents previously asked the surrogate to terminate the pregnancy.

That request for termination came at 20 weeks into the pregnancy. Doctors had diagnosed the fetus with a severe heart defect at that time. The surrogate subsequently traveled to Texas for the birth.

The surrogate is pursuing legal action to gain custody of the infant. NBC's Ryan Chandler reported on the situation for TODAY.
