The Colorado Avalanche defeated the Los Angeles Kings 5-1, concluding their first-round playoff series with a sweep. The loss marked the end of Los Angeles Kings captain Anze Kopitar's 20-season NHL career.

Kopitar finishes his career as the Kings' all-time leader in games played (1,521), assists (864), and points (1,316). He also holds franchise records for overtime points (34) and game-winning goals (79). He scored his final career goal on March 28 and recorded no points in the four-game series against the Avalanche.

The Kings made 11 playoff appearances during Kopitar's tenure. He played in a franchise-record 107 postseason games. Kopitar won two Stanley Cups with the Kings during his career. This marks the seventh consecutive first-round playoff series loss for the Kings.
