April 19, 2026
Auburn's track and field program has established itself as a powerhouse in the Southeast, capping a strong indoor season with performances at the SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships in Bryan-College Station, Texas, in late February. The Tigers posted four personal records, two facility records, two state records, and one college record at the three-day event, demonstrating the depth and talent across both the men's and women's squads.
The Auburn track program continues to build momentum heading into the outdoor season, which kicked off with the Yellow Jacket Invitational in Atlanta on March 20-21. The Tigers returned home to host the Tiger Track Classic on the newly resurfaced Hutsell-Rosen Track on April 25, providing fans an early look at the program's outdoor capabilities on the improved facility.
The centerpiece of Auburn's 2026 season arrives May 14-16, when the university hosts the SEC Outdoor Championships at Hutsell-Rosen Track. This marks the second consecutive year Auburn has hosted postseason conference competition, underscoring the program's status as a premier track and field venue in the region. The championship meet will showcase elite collegiate talent from across the Southeastern Conference.
Following the SEC Championships, Auburn athletes will have the opportunity to advance to the NCAA East Preliminaries in Lexington, Kentucky, on May 27-30, with potential advancement to the NCAA Outdoor Championships scheduled for June 10-13 in Eugene, Oregon, at historic Hayward Field. The program's nine-meet outdoor schedule reflects the competitive trajectory Auburn is pursuing through the postseason.
