Apalachee High School Shooter Receives Life Sentence Without Parole
WINDER, Ga. — A Georgia court sentenced Colt Gray to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Friday for the 2022 shooting at Apalachee High School.
A jury found Gray guilty of malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault. The charges stemmed from an incident at the high school where a male individual died and a female individual sustained injuries.
During the sentencing hearing, prosecutors presented recorded jailhouse calls involving Gray and his mother. They also played recordings where Gray discussed notoriety associated with school shootings.
Gray's grandmother testified during the proceedings, stating that Gray had undergone changes since the incident. Prosecutors did not specify what changes she referenced.
