Ancient Egypt Exhibit Opens at Tallahassee Museum

Ancient Egypt Comes to Tallahassee Museum

Tallahassee residents will have a unique opportunity to explore the wonders of Ancient Egypt right in their own backyard, here in Florida's Capital City, as the Tallahassee Museum officially opens its new exhibit, "Mysteries of the Nile: Ancient Egypt Revealed," this Saturday, April 12, 2026. The exhibit, located in the museum's main gallery at 3945 Museum Drive, promises an immersive journey into one of history's most fascinating civilizations.

The exhibit features a collection of artifacts, replicas, and interactive displays designed to educate and entertain visitors of all ages. Highlights include a detailed recreation of a pharaoh's tomb, hieroglyphic deciphering stations, and information on daily life along the Nile River. Educational programs and workshops for children and adults are also planned throughout the exhibit's run, complementing the museum's longstanding emphasis on local Florida history and natural heritage.

Museum Director Dr. Evelyn Reed expressed her excitement about bringing such a significant cultural experience to the community. "We believe this exhibit will not only be a draw for history enthusiasts but also inspire a new generation to learn about the rich heritage of Ancient Egypt," Dr. Reed stated.

The "Mysteries of the Nile" exhibit will be open during regular museum hours, Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission to the exhibit is included with general museum admission. For more information on tickets and special events, residents can visit the Tallahassee Museum's website or call their main office.
