Alligators at the Window, Bears at the Bakery
This week, an alligator entered the fast-food industry by force, while a bear discovered that cupcakes are easier to obtain than most people’s health insurance. Both made better decisions than the humans involved.

A 23-year-old Florida man arrived at a fast-food drive-through with a four-foot alligator. According to reports, he had been drinking, which is often how wildlife begins a brief career in customer service.
The man allegedly picked up the alligator and threw it through the restaurant’s window. Nobody was seriously injured, although the employees were presented with a reptile, a broken window, and the sort of shift that makes a person reconsider the hospitality business.
He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of an alligator. The animal, meanwhile, was returned to the wild, where it presumably resumed waiting for someone else to make a poor decision.
Elsewhere, a black bear entered a bakery through a rear door and found approximately 60 cupcakes cooling inside. The bear did not take cash, equipment, or the recipe, suggesting it had arrived with a focused agenda.
Bakery staff watched from a safe distance as the bear ate the cupcakes one by one. It consumed vanilla, chocolate, and other varieties, demonstrating both remarkable stamina and a level of discernment rarely seen at office birthday parties.
After finishing the inventory, the bear left through the same door. No arrest was made, largely because the suspect was a bear and because the evidence had been eaten.
