Alachua County Tax Collector's Northwest Branch Now Requires Appointments

Gainesville residents planning a visit to the Alachua County Tax Collector's Northwest Branch will now need to book an appointment in advance. As of today, April 13, 2026, the office, located at 5801 NW 34th Blvd in the heart of Gainesville's northwest, has transitioned to an appointment-only system for all services.

This change aims to streamline operations and reduce wait times for citizens conducting business such as vehicle tag renewals, property tax payments, and driver's license services. Previously, walk-ins were accommodated, often leading to extended queues, particularly during peak hours.

Appointments can be scheduled online through the Alachua County Tax Collector's official website or by calling their main office during business hours. This new system is expected to improve efficiency and provide a more predictable experience for those needing to utilize the branch's services, from UF students to longtime residents.
