Al Duffy Retires After 30 Years With North Collier Fire Rescue

Al Duffy retired in June 2019 as a Battalion Chief from North Collier Fire Rescue, ending a fire service career spanning nearly four decades.

Duffy began as a volunteer firefighter with Hagerman Fire Department in Long Island, New York, in 1981. He moved to Naples in September 1985 and volunteered with East Naples and Marco Island Fire Departments before the City of Naples Fire Department hired him as a firefighter in June 1986.

He joined North Naples Fire Department in July 1989, the predecessor to North Collier Fire Rescue, which consolidated under its current name in 2015. Duffy spent his final 30 years in Collier County with that department.

Duffy holds an Associate's Degree in Fire Science Technology and certifications as a Florida State Emergency Medical Technician, Pump Operator, Fire Officer II, Fire Inspector II, and Fire Instructor II.
