The primary circuit, which delivers data to the facility, failed, affecting operations at multiple major airports. Travelers departing from or arriving at Philadelphia International Airport experienced impacts from the data outage. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, and Newark Liberty International Airport also saw their flight schedules affected. According to the FAA, the problem originated with the central data circuit. This circuit is responsible for transmitting crucial information to the air traffic control center, which manages air travel for the region.
