Robert L. McVicker Jr. of New Castle passed away on the evening of Tuesday, May 26th at Jameson Hospital after a short illness. Robert was proceeded in death by his parents, Robert L. McVicker Sr. and Margaret McVicker both of New Castle.Robert graduated from Union Area High School and went on to Youngstown University. Robert worked for over 25 years and retired from Penn Power as a training specialist.Robert enjoyed racing horses with his son Stephen and had many great adventures at fairs and different racing venues over 10 years. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed going to camp in Leeper, PA with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing in his boat with his son Jamie and his grandkids. He enjoyed grilling and made a homemade BBQ sauce that people loved and often asked for. He was a superfan of all the Pittsburgh sport teams and Penn State Football and was always watching them on TV or listening to them on the radio. He loved to go to casinos and road trips with his best friend, Carl Pia, who was like a brother to him up until his passing.Robert is survived by his two sons, Jamie (Angela) McVicker of New Castle and Stephen (Scott) McVicker of Ellwood City, five grandchildren, Hannah (Noah Watson), Jamie, Jacob, Jaxson, and Jayse McVicker. He would have loved to meet his great grandson in a few short months.Robert loved his family with all his being. He was always going to sporting events for his sons and grandchildren. He was supportive, patient and understanding with all life had to give. He was proud of his grandchildren and doted on them at any chance he had.The family would like to thank Quality Life Service’s staff of New Castle for their care and compassion over the past few years and UPMC Jameson Hospital’s staff for their support and upmost care over his last days.Although he will be missed greatly, he is at peace and is in a much better place. There will be no public services held per Robert’s wishes and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.Arrangements are entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Robert “Bob” Farrington, 65, of Neshannock Township, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of May 23, 2026, at UPMC Jameson Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.Born in New Castle on February 27, 1961, Bob was the beloved son of the late Richard and Sally Stivans Farrington.On July 31, 1982, Bob married the love of his life, the former Jan Spangler. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with 45 years of unwavering love, laughter, devotion, and cherished memories. Jan survives at home, carrying with her a lifetime of love shared with her best friend.Bob was a proud 1980 graduate of Neshannock High School. He dedicated many years of hard work to the Neshannock Township Road Department before continuing his career with GEM Building Contractors & Developers, Inc. Bob was a man who truly appreciated the simple joys in life. He loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, being at the water’s edge and the woods is where he felt closest to God. He also built treasured friendships through the Mahoning County Sportsman’s Club, the Eintracht Society, The Gripers Club, and Local Union 964.Above all else, Bob’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, caring brother, and loyal friend. His grandchildren brought endless happiness to his life, and nothing meant more to him than spending time with those he loved most. Bob will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his kind and generous heart, his easygoing nature, and the way he could always make those around him feel welcomed and cared for. He was the kind of man you could count on without hesitation — steady, hardworking, and deeply devoted to the people he loved.In addition to his wife Jan, Bob leaves behind his daughter and son-in-law, Drs. Poland - Janet Arlene Erskine, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. Janet was born on March 11, 1934, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late William C. and Stella (Citanski) Smith.She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who cherished every moment spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Janet’s love for her family was evident in everything she did, and her warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.Janet enjoyed gardening and took great pride in her flower gardens. She loved being outdoors, watching and feeding the birds in her yard, and finding peace in nature. She also enjoyed sewing, watching NASCAR racing, and listening to the music of Elvis Presley, of whom she was an avid fan.She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Jimmy (Kim) Erskine IV of Poland, Terry (Steve) Valencia of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Sue (Rick) Clayton of Poland, Ohio, Amy Patsko of New Springfield, Ohio, and William (Sloan) Erskine of Mooresville, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Kristen (Sabi) Chomczyk, Katie Clayton, Calvin (Audrianna) Clayton, Colby (Miah) Clayton, Joseph (Channing) Patsko, Michael (Courtney) Patsko, and Matthew Patsko; 14 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Calvin (Alice) Smith of Lowellville, Ohio.Per Janet’s request, private services were held Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N.
