The Frank Scofield Boat Ramps at Causeway Park have reopened.

The Frank Scofield Boat Ramps at Causeway Park have reopened. Community leaders, local, state, and federal law enforcement all gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of the newly improved boat ramps. The improvements go beyond a fresh new look. The construction upgrades rebuilt the docks to be more resilient and designed to better withstand storms, while the improved boat ramp will make it easier for boaters to launch and get out on the water. Additionally, the $1.8 million project was covered by $1.6 million in grants from ECHO, the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND), and the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), helping make these important improvements possible while reducing the financial impact on local taxpayers.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close portions of Interstate 95 between Taylor Road and State Road 44 from 9 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. on select nights while crews set beams for a new bridge. Northbound I-95 will be closed Sept. 23, 24, and 27 during these times. Southbound I-95 will be closed Sept. 28, 29, and 30 during these times. FDOT will have detour signs and message boards in place to guide motorists. Drivers should plan their routes accordingly and allow extra time when traveling through the area.
