Bayfront Health St. Petersburg received the following achievement awards: Get With The Guidelines® - Heart Failure Gold Plus Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke Gold Plus Target: Heart Failure Honor Roll Target: Stroke Honor Roll “Bayfront Health St. Petersburg is committed to improving care by adhering to the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® program,” said John Moore, President of Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. “The tools and resources provided help us track and measure our success in meeting evidenced-based clinical guidelines developed to improve patient outcomes.” Each year, the American Heart Association helps hospitals use the Get With The Guidelines programs to implement up-to-date, research-based guidelines to speed recovery and reduce death for heart failure and stroke patients. Hospitals earning Get With The Guidelines® Gold Plus awards have reached an aggressive goal of treating patients to core standard levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for two consecutive calendar years. “We are pleased to recognize Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for its commitment to caring for patients with heart failure and stroke,” said Mariell Jessup, M.D., chief science and medical officer of the American Heart Association. “Hospitals that follow the Get With The Guidelines protocols often see improved patient outcomes, fewer readmissions and lower mortality rates – a win for health care.”

"Mayor Ken Welch, City of St. Petersburg to Host City Hall on Tour and Hurricane Preparedness Expo May 13, 2026 – Residents will have the opportunity to prepare for hurricane season and connect with City leaders as the City of St. Petersburg hosts the 2026 Hurricane Preparedness Expo, organized in partnership with St. Pete Fire Rescue, alongside Mayor Ken Welch's City Hall on Tour. This free, family-friendly event is designed to help the community prepare for the upcoming Atlantic hurricane season. Residents will also have the opportunity to connect directly with City officials, ask questions, share concerns, and gain valuable information related to storm preparedness and response in an open-house setting. 2026 Hurricane Preparedness Expo + Mayor's City Hall on Tour Wednesday, May 27, from 5-7 p.m.Lake Vista Park, 1401 62nd Ave. S The Hurricane Preparedness Expo will cover essential topics such as evacuation planning, storm safety, and emergency preparedness.
