24 BRTC Phlebotomy Students Earn Certification

Twenty-four phlebotomy students from Black River Technical College passed their Certified Phlebotomy Technician exam across the college's Pocahontas and Paragould campuses.

The CPT exam requires students to answer 100 questions in two hours, covering operational standards, patient preparation, equipment use, sample storage, and medical terminology. A score of at least 390 is required to pass.

BRTC's phlebotomy program teaches students to draw blood samples using various techniques, apply knowledge of venous anatomy, and follow clinical safety protocols. Graduates work in hospitals, clinics, blood donation centers, and other healthcare facilities.
