BRTC Graduates 500+ Students in Spring Ceremony

Black River Technical College awarded more than 700 credentials to over 500 students at its spring commencement May 14 in Pocahontas.

Jessica Alphin, the college's director of clinical education for respiratory care, delivered the keynote address as approximately 150 graduates received their diplomas. Eighty high school students earned college credentials before graduating from their local high schools, completing coursework through BRTC's concurrent enrollment program.

The college conferred Associate of Arts degrees, Associate of General Studies degrees, and various Associate of Applied Science degrees in technical fields, along with one-year technical certificates and one-semester certificates of proficiency.

BRTC holds two commencement ceremonies annually. The college serves northeast Arkansas through career and technical education programs designed to prepare students for immediate employment or transfer to four-year institutions. More information is available at blackrivertech.edu.
