Pinellas Park Police Achieve Reaccreditation

The Pinellas Park Police Department successfully maintained its accredited status, earning reaccreditation from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) in February 2024. This achievement reflects the department's ongoing commitment to industry best practices and follows initial accreditation in February 2018 and a prior reaccreditation in February 2021.

The CFA reaccreditation process requires agencies to undergo rigorous self-assessments and onsite reviews by assessors. These reviews ensure department policies and operations align with established state standards. In November 2017, assessors found the department in full compliance with 200 applicable standards.

To maintain accredited status, the department must demonstrate continuous compliance with all standards during inspections every three years. The department's accreditation team actively monitors changes to standards, which may be amended due to shifts in Florida law, case law or professional best practices.
