Pinellas Park Police Chief Adam Geissenberger Leads Department

Chief Adam Geissenberger commands the Pinellas Park Police Department, bringing more than 25 years of experience to the role. He oversees law enforcement services for residents, workers, and visitors in Pinellas Park. His office directly manages Internal Affairs, Public Information, and the agency's Honor Guard.

Geissenberger began his career with the Pinellas Park Police Department after serving with the Florida Department of Corrections and the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. During his tenure, he held various positions, including youth services detective, school resource officer, vice and narcotics detective, patrol corporal, professional standards officer, patrol sergeant, records sergeant, special services sergeant, and accreditation manager. He also worked as a field training officer and traffic homicide investigator, and spent a decade on the Tampa Bay Multi-Agency Gang Task Force.

The department named Geissenberger Police Officer of the Year in 2012, the same year he was promoted to sergeant. He advanced to lieutenant in 2015 and served as a patrol commander. He also acted as public information officer, high liability instructor, new supervisor training manager, and FTEP coordinator. Geissenberger instructed agency personnel in firearms, Taser, defensive tactics, and emergency vehicle operations. He trained as an accreditation manager and accreditation commission assessor.

Geissenberger holds two master's degrees from Troy University: a Master of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Public Administration. He graduated from the 266th Session of the FBI National Academy and Chief Executive Seminar Class #58. He also served as president of the Senior Leadership Program, Class #21, at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Geissenberger graduated from Leadership Pinellas in 2021 and received the Chamber of Commerce President's Award in 2025.

Geissenberger is active in professional organizations. He serves as a Commissioner for the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Chairman of SRIC, and District 12 Director for the Florida Police Chiefs Association. He is also a member of the FBI National Academy Associates (Florida Chapter), the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the Tampa Bay Area Chiefs of Police Association. Locally, he chaired the Pinellas Police Standards Council for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 terms and chairs the Pinellas County Substance Abuse Advisory Board. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Hope Villages of America and as an NCIS - LINX SE Region Executive Committee Member.
