Pinellas Park contractors and residents must submit specific documentation to obtain building permits, the city's Building Development Division announced.

All permit applicants must provide a Certificate of Insurance listing General Liability and Workers Compensation coverage. Applicants exempt from Workers Compensation must submit a Workers Comp Exemption Certificate instead. Out-of-state insurance providers must verify that Workers Compensation coverage is valid in Florida. The city will reject incomplete or inaccurate certificates.

Applicants can email insurance certificates to [email protected] or mail them to the City of Pinellas Park Building Development, 6051 78th Ave, Pinellas Park, FL 33781-1100. The certificate must name the City of Pinellas Park as the Certificate Holder.

Permits are available online or at the Permit Counter in the Public Works/Technical Services Building at 6051 78th Avenue N. The counter operates Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call 727-369-5647 with questions.

Most projects require a minimum of three complete sets of building plans and five sets of site plans. A complete set includes a Plot Plan, Foundation Plan, Floor Plan, Roof Framing, Floor Framing, Cross Sections, Exterior Elevations, and Energy Calculations. Larger or complex projects may require structural calculations prepared by a licensed engineer or architect.
