Pinellas Park teens are making a difference through TeenWorkX, a nonprofit founded in 2019. Students in grades 6-12 participate in projects aimed at beautifying the city and building community spirit.
The group’s activities include park cleanups, sometimes using kayaks, and maintaining local gardens. TeenWorkX also supports city events like the annual City BBQ and Country in the Park, and assists local elementary schools. The organization holds fundraisers, with proceeds helping to provide holiday gifts for teens in need.
TeenWorkX aims to create lasting community memories by supporting organizations, hosting projects, and organizing family-friendly activities. The organization seeks to motivate local youth to work toward a better future.
Now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, TeenWorkX holds monthly meetings for interested individuals at The Hub, located at 7780 60th St N. Board positions are reelected annually in August. These roles involve leading meetings, managing social media, taking minutes, budgeting for fundraisers, and documenting events.
TeenWorkX received the 2023 FLC Municipal Youth Council Video Competition award. The organization also highlights volunteer opportunities for teens, including Police Cadets, Fire Cadets, and the Teen Advisory Board at the library.
