Upham Beach Sea Oat Planting Event - St. Pete Beach

St. Pete Beach residents and visitors can help bolster the shoreline by participating in a hands-on environmental project. Dune Savers, in partnership with the City of St. Pete Beach and Keep Pinellas Beautiful, will host a sea oat planting event at Upham Beach on Sunday, Oct. 4.
Volunteers will plant native sea oats to protect the beach's dunes, reduce erosion, restore coastal habitat and strengthen the shoreline against future storms. The project offers a direct way for community members to contribute to the long-term health of Upham Beach.
The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Volunteers should meet at Upham Beach Park, 6850 Beach Plaza, St. Pete Beach, FL 33706. Allow time for parking and check-in.
All ages are welcome. Volunteers under 18 need parental sign-in, and those under 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Wear closed-toe shoes, and bring sun protection and weather-appropriate clothing. Organizers will provide planting supplies and a water refill station; bring a refillable bottle.
Limited parking passes will be available. No ticket printing is required.
