
St. Petersburg College Gears Up for Centennial, Celebrates Student Success
St. Petersburg College is gearing up for its 100th anniversary by reinforcing its commitment to student success and community growth. The college recently celebrated its advising teams and the success of its Fuse transfer program with USF.

St. Petersburg College (SPC) is preparing for its 100th anniversary by continuing its mission to open doors, prepare students for careers, and strengthen the community. President Dr. Tonjua Williams highlighted the college's commitment to student success for current and future generations.
The college's centennial preparations follow a successful 99th-anniversary celebration, SPC Day, which engaged the community and exceeded donor goals.
Dr. Williams also emphasized SPC's dedication to student advancement through initiatives like the Fuse program. This 10-year-old program facilitates seamless transfers to the University of South Florida (USF). Dr. Williams joined other Florida College System presidents and USF President Rhea Law to mark the program's success, reinforcing SPC's commitment to preparing students for their next academic steps.
The college's focus on student support includes its advising teams. An Advising Summit on Sept. 1 recognized these teams for their crucial role in student success. Jennifer Johnston received the Advisor of the Year award for logging more than 7,200 student interactions. Nine other advisors were also honored for their dedication to the Titan community.
St. Petersburg College, with roots in St. Petersburg, has a history of providing educational opportunities and contributing to regional growth. As the college approaches its centennial, its leadership remains focused on these core values, aiming to remain a vital resource for education and career development.
