
Pinellas County Declares October Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Pinellas County Commissioners have officially recognized October as Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Month and designated Oct. 24 as Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Day to support research and services.

Representatives from the American Cancer Society, including Bethany Lynch, associate director of development; Megan Arnold, strategic PR lead; Wendy Johnson, vice president of development for Tampa ACS; Sophie Aunspaugh, senior development manager; and Doug Abate, Men Wear Pink Tampa Bay Ambassador, attended the announcement. Their presence highlighted community collaboration on the health issue.
The county designated Oct. 24 to encourage community participation in events supporting those affected by breast cancer. The American Cancer Society is expected to announce further details on local events and how residents can get involved.
