Pinellas County Commissioners approved a $10,412,453.75 contract with Central Florida Contractors, Inc. for extensive repairs to six sites damaged by Hurricane Helene. The work will restore essential county facilities and infrastructure, including areas near the Madeira Beach Causeway.
The contractor will supply all labor, materials, and equipment to complete the project to county standards. Central Florida Contractors, Inc. of Largo must begin work within 15 days of receiving a written notice to proceed and complete the project within 540 days. Time is critical for this project, and the contractor faces liquidated damages for delays.
Central Florida Contractors, Inc. will obtain most necessary permits and licenses, as detailed in Appendix 1 of the contract. The company also agrees to defend and indemnify Pinellas County from liabilities arising from the work, except where prohibited by Florida law. The county retains the right to inspect all ongoing work and materials.
Commissioners approved the bid, number 26-0208-ITB-C, on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, as agenda item 15 under "other" business. Supporting documents include location maps, the formal agreement, bid tabulation, and an OMB Granicus review.
