Pinecrest Launches Derech Program for Jewish Exploration

Pinecrest residents interested in exploring Judaism have a new year-long opportunity with the launch of Derech. The program offers a journey into Jewish traditions, wisdom, and joy, welcoming individuals exploring Judaism, currently enrolled in an introduction to Judaism course, or considering conversion.

Derech begins this month with an introductory course running from August through December, led by local Reform rabbis and cantors. Following this initial phase, the program continues through May with unique experiences provided by Beth Am.

Participants will engage in activities designed to bring Jewish traditions to life and build confidence in participating in Jewish life. These include opportunities for conversions with clergy, offering insight and personal guidance, and Shabbat and holiday celebrations for hands-on experiences with Jewish customs.

A key component of Derech is its focus on community. The program aims to create a supportive environment where questions are encouraged and friendships can flourish, helping individuals feel more connected and comfortable as they deepen their understanding of Judaism.
