The City of Obetz is seeking public input on a proposed project to construct an ADA-compliant paved multi-use path at Dixon Quarry. This project is part of a broader effort to improve accessibility, safety, and connectivity throughout the community. The proposed path would enhance access to recreational areas and connect to existing and planned trail systems in the region, supporting long-term mobility and outdoor recreation opportunities. Project Overview The proposed multi-use path would: Provide an accessible, paved route for pedestrians and cyclists Improve connectivity within Dixon Quarry and surrounding areas Support safe, inclusive access for individuals of all abilities Align with regional trail and infrastructure improvements Potential Environmental Considerations As part of the planning process, the project will evaluate potential impacts to: Natural areas within and surrounding Dixon Quarry Nearby waterways and drainage features Vegetation and wildlife habitats All environmental considerations will be reviewed and addressed in coordination with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). Oak View Students Participate in Service Learning Projects

Oak View students spent the last several weeks working on service learning projects during advisory time. The goal of this event is to shift student focus from personal insecurities to community needs. These programs help students build resilience, develop real-world problem-solving skills, and gain a tangible sense of competence and purpose during their most formative years. Our students are making an impactful difference in our community! Oak View Service Learning Projects Courtyard Beautification (students clean up the courtyards) Courtyard Mural (students paint the cement in the courtyard) Kid Court Bags (students put together quiet activity bags to donate to kids in court) Tie Blankets for kids (students create tie blankets for other kids) Self-Care Strategies and Wellness Workshop (students learn strategies to help themselves or others) Mustang Mentors (where our students mentor 4th-grade students) DCG Game Day (where students plan Game Day for special education students in our district) Kindness for Kennybrook (students make cards and then visit Kennybrook) ARL (students make toys for animals and then visit the ARL to learn about the program) Comfort Care (students learn about period poverty and stock bathrooms with feminine products) T-Shirt Bags (students learn about the Food Bank of Iowa, make t-shirt bags, and donate them back to the Food Bank of Iowa) Staff May Day Baskets (students make May Day bags and fill them with treats for staff to show appreciation) Library Glow Up (students help our school librarian get books ready to be re-shelved) Student Ambassadors of Belonging (students learn about leadership and then plan 6th grade transition day and tours) Book Drive (students collect books to donate to local medical clinics to be handed out to kids) Student Tutoring Videos (students create video tutorials for future students) Music at Kennybrook (students will learn music to play at Kennybrook and Spurgeon Manor) Wellness Workshop
