Crews will be cleaning out sanitary sewer lines in the Glendell Acres neighborhood during the week of April 13. Jetting the lines prevents blockages, removes buildup, and ensures proper flow. This preventative maintenance clears grease, tree roots, sludge, and debris from pipe walls, reducing sewer backups and extending the life of this critical piece of infrastructure.
Crews will be working in an area from W. 8th Street east to W. 4th Street from Meriwood south to Heather Knoll. See the map below.
What Residents Need To Know
During this process, you may notice drains and toilets gurgling. You may also experience a sewer odor in your home due to inadequate venting. Please do not be alarmed.
In the unlikely event that water may splash out of your toilet, place a large old towel under the toilet seat or draped around the toilet, or wrap the bowl with plastic wrap, and cover any floor drains.
If you have any questions, please contact Chase Forrester, Public Works Foreman, by calling City Hall at 913-893-6231.
