City of Salem Declares Snow Emergency Salem, MA – January 6, 2024 – The City of Salem has declared a snow emergency effective January 6, 2024, at 6:00 PM. Due to the anticipated heavy snowfall, parking restrictions will be implemented to facilitate efficient snow removal. Residents are urged to move their vehicles from city streets to designated off-street parking locations. Vehicles parked in violation of the snow emergency parking ban will be subject to ticketing and towing.
