Secretary of State Wes Allen Reminds Alabamians of Absentee Voting Deadlines Ahead of August 11 Special Primary Election

Wes Allen, Alabama’s Secretary of State, reminds Alabama voters that county absentee election managers must receive mail-in absentee ballot applications for the August 11 Special Primary Election for congressional districts 1, 2, 6, and 7 by Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The deadline to return an absentee ballot application in person is Thursday, August 6, 2026.

Wes Allen, Alabama’s Secretary of State, reminds Alabama voters that county absentee election managers must receive mail-in absentee ballot applications for the August 11 Special Primary Election for congressional districts 1, 2, 6, and 7 by Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The deadline to return an absentee ballot application in person is Thursday, August 6, 2026. Absentee ballots being returned in-person must be received by the county absentee election manager by close of business on the day before the election, August 10, 2026. Absentee ballots returned by mail must be received no later than noon on Election Day, August 11, 2026. It is recommended to mail in your absentee ballot application and absentee ballots at least two weeks before the deadline for county absentee election managers to receive them. Voters are required to present a valid form of photo identification before voting at their polling place or when requesting an absentee ballot. Voters can verify which congressional district they reside in using the Secretary of State’s website: https://myinfo.alabamavotes.gov/VoterView. Wes Allen is Alabama’s 54th Secretary of State. Pickens County Sheriff Attends State Association Conference

Annual Conference Each year the Alabama Sheriff’s Association holds an Annual Conference for all the Sheriffs in Alabama. This year the conference will be held at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama. Sheriff Todd Hall will be in attendance at the conference. This conference is a chance for all the sheriffs in the state to come together, attend training and discuss issues that are affecting each county and sheriffs' offices across the state. Sheriff Hall looks forward to this time each year to learn new information and bring it back to Pickens County to help serve the citizens better.
