Residents in portions of southwest Indiana and west Kentucky are advised to prepare for areas of fog and dense fog overnight. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Paducah, KY, issued a Special Weather Statement at 12:24 AM CDT today, October 12, 2026, warning that visibilities may drop to a quarter mile at times.

The affected areas include Pike, Warrick, and Spencer counties in Indiana, and Hopkins, Christian, Daviess, McLean, Muhlenberg, and Todd counties in Kentucky. The NWS indicates that the fog will be mainly east of a line from Petersburg to Newburgh to Madisonville to Hopkinsville.

This advisory is effective immediately and is expected to continue through daybreak, with conditions rapidly improving after sunrise. The Special Weather Statement is set to expire at 8:00 AM UTC (3:00 AM CDT) today.

Motorists are urged to slow down and allow extra time to reach their destinations due to the reduced visibility. Exercise caution on roadways during the overnight hours and early morning.
