Georgia-Pacific Gives $26,000 to Taylor County Schools for STEAM Programs

Georgia-Pacific donated $26,000 to Taylor County Schools on March 7 to support STEAM education, agricultural programs, and trade skill training.

Scott Mixon, the company's public affairs manager, presented the check to Superintendent Alicia Beshears. The funds will support science, technology, engineering, arts, and math initiatives across multiple schools in the district.

"Every year, we have increased our donation to Taylor County Schools because every year the teachers and faculty find ways to do more to educate students and prepare them for their future," Mixon said.

Georgia-Pacific operates a manufacturing facility in Perry and has contributed to the district's educational programs annually.
