Let’s make New Carrollton a safer place to walk, roll, and bike! The City of New Carrollton is undertaking a year-long process to assess the city’s transportation infrastructure and create a Safety Action Plan (SAP). The SAP aims to improve traffic safety and pedestrian and bicycle access in New Carrollton to enhance livability for all residents and visitors. The SAP will document existing transportation safety conditions, recommend a prioritized list of projects to improve safety and access, and help the City apply for grants to fund the recommended projects.  This project is funded by the City of New Carrollton and the U.S. Department of Transportation Safer Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) initiative. Key goals of the SS4A program include: The city is a desirable place to live, and is host to a range of services. It also serves as the gateway to a growing destination, employment center, and regional transportation hub in Prince George’s County. As the area continues to grow, our city needs connected streets and comfortable pedestrian and bicycle networks so residents, visitors, and the workforce can get where they need to go and enjoy all that New Carrollton has to offer.  Attend upcoming events to learn more and provide your input. As part of this process,  a variety of community events, such as “Walkabouts”, pop-ups, and in-person and virtual project meetings. Check this webpage and/or the New Carrollton Events Calendar for more information about future events. You can also sign up for the City’s newsletter and look for project updates on the City’s social media pages. https://www.instagram.com/citynewcarrollton https://www.facebook.com/NewCarrolltonCity City of New Carrollton6016 Princess Garden ParkwayNew Carrollton, MD 20784Phone: 301-459-6100
