Birmingham Police Nab Suspects in Downtown Robbery Spree

Birmingham Police Department announced arrests in multiple robbery investigations targeting local businesses and residents in the city's core areas. Samuel Bolton, facing charges of first-degree robbery, fraudulent use of a credit card, and possession of a pistol by a forbidden person, was detained following a Saturday incident on 14th Avenue South. The victim in that case escaped unharmed, with Bolton now held at Jefferson County Jail.

In a separate eastern Birmingham case on Parkway East Tuesday, Boubacar Diallo was apprehended at the scene without resistance and charged with third-degree robbery. The victim sustained minor injuries during the attack. Diallo is en route to Jefferson County Jail, as police continue probing connections to broader patterns in the city's robbery surge.

A joint operation with Homewood Police yielded further breakthroughs, charging 20-year-old Jermaine Turner Pryce of Center Point and 22-year-old Julia Sanders of Birmingham with first-degree robbery. The duo is linked to armed robberies specifically targeting Hispanic victims, with arrests made last Friday. Additional charges are anticipated as investigations unfold.

These arrests address immediate threats in Birmingham's bustling downtown and surrounding commercial districts, where business owners have heightened security amid the past month's violence.
