37 Graduates Earn Diplomas from PSC Charter Academy

Thirty-seven high school seniors graduated from Pensacola State College Charter Academy on Monday, May 11, at the Jean & Paul Amos Performance Studio.
Twenty-four graduates will also receive associate degrees from PSC during the college's commencement on Wednesday, May 13, according to Charter Academy Principal Karen McCabe.
PSC President Ed Meadows told graduates to "never stop learning; learning is lifelong," citing Thomas Jefferson's 1816 letter to John Adams: "I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past."
Board of Trustees Chair Gordon Sprague encouraged graduates to pursue their ambitions. "You will, if you desire, contribute to a rapidly changing world," Sprague said.
Valedictorian Dominic Desporte and Senior Class President Joi Wilmer spoke to their classmates. Daschle Nelson led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Charter Academy offers high school students a rigorous curriculum combining high school diplomas, college credits and associate degrees. Students choose between career and technical education or university transfer programs.
