Mayor's August Newsletter

Mayor's August Newsletter Hello La Grange Residents, I hope this newsletter finds you well. August has been a busy month for our city, and I'm excited to share some updates with you. **City Projects & Improvements:** Our Public Works department has been hard at work on several key infrastructure projects. The repaving of Main Street is nearing completion, which will significantly improve traffic flow and aesthetics downtown. We've also made progress on upgrading our water treatment facility, ensuring reliable service for all residents. **Upcoming Events:** Mark your calendars for the annual La Grange Fall Festival on September 15th at City Park. This family-friendly event will feature live music, local food vendors, games for kids, and a craft fair. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect with your neighbors and celebrate our community. Additionally, the La Grange Public Library will be hosting a special "Read to a Dog" event on September 22nd, where children can practice their reading skills with certified therapy dogs. **Community Engagement:** I want to thank everyone who participated in the recent town hall meeting regarding the proposed park expansion. Your feedback is invaluable as we plan for the future of our green spaces. We will be holding another session on October 5th to discuss preliminary designs. **Important Notices:** Please remember that the city council meeting schedule has been updated. Regular meetings will now be held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM in the City Hall council chambers. Thank you for your continued support and engagement in making La Grange a great place to live. Sincerely, Barbara N. Knight Mayor, City of La Grange
