Pembroke Pines Commission OKs Pines Place Property Deal

Pembroke Pines City Commissioners approved an ordinance authorizing a sub-sublease agreement for the Pines Place property, located at 8103 South Palm Drive, 8210 Florida Drive, and 8203 Florida Drive. The commission took this action on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

Ordinance No. 2026-04 allows the city to enter into the sub-sublease with Reliant Cap XI, LLC. The agreement also includes the sale of improvements on the property to Reliant for $90,250,000.

The City of Pembroke Pines currently subleases the Pines Place property from the State of Florida Department of Children and Family Services and has managed the residential facility since its construction, financed through special purpose bonds.

City officials are authorized to execute necessary documents to close the transaction. The closing becomes effective when the City Manager files a certificate with the City Clerk confirming all requirements are met. Amendments extending the review period for the sub-sublease may be approved by City Commission resolution.

The City Commission adopted Proposed Ordinance No. 2026-04 on its second and final reading. Commissioner Schwartz voted no.
