Miramar City Commission to Consider Support for Pembroke Road Improvements from Flamingo to Hiatus Road

The Miramar City Commission will consider a resolution to support an application for significant improvements to Pembroke Road. This project, covering the stretch from Flamingo Road to Hiatus Road, seeks funding through the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization's (MPO) Roads for Economic Vitality (REV) Program, Cycle 1.

Residents in Pembroke Pines and Miramar use this section of Pembroke Road daily. Securing this funding could mean smoother commutes and enhanced infrastructure for the area. The MPO, which approved the REV program on July 9, 2015, aims to support projects that boost economic vitality through road improvements.

The proposed Resolution No. 2026-R-15 expresses the City of Miramar's support for this application. The Pembroke Road Improvement Project will undergo evaluation and ranking by the MPO. Following this, the project will be vetted for programmability according to the REV policy. Exhibit A, referenced in the proposed resolution, provides detailed information about the project.

The Miramar City Commission previously held a meeting on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 6:30 PM at the Bright Beginnings Day Care Center. Agenda item 22 for that meeting included the motion to adopt Proposed Resolution No. 2026-R-15. The City of Miramar's resolution supporting the application is numbered 26-177.

This resolution represents the initial step in the application process for Cycle 1 of the MPO's REV program. The outcome of the MPO's evaluation will determine if the project receives the necessary funding to move forward.
