The USPS passport appointment scheduling system allows residents to book appointments for passport services at participating Post Office locations. Users must first complete and print their passport application form from https://pptform.state.gov before applying. The scheduling process involves four main steps: selecting a service type (New Passport Only, New Passport with Photo Services, Passport Renewal, Digital Photo Services Only, or Hard Copy Photo Services Only) and number of applicants; searching for appointments by location or date within a 4-week window; selecting an available appointment time (appointments take approximately 15 minutes per person, with arrivals 10 minutes early requested); and providing contact information for verification. Service types accommodate adults and minors under 16 years old, with capacity for up to 6 applicants per category. Users can search appointments within 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 40, 60, 80, or 100-mile radius from their specified location. The system displays only the 5 closest locations' appointments. Passport renewal by appointment is not available online; eligible applicants must renew by mail or online through the State Department. Passport renewal eligibility requirements apply. USPS Digital Photo Services are available at many locations and comply with US Department of State regulations. Walk-in hours are available if online appointment booking fails. Users receive a confirmation number upon successful appointment scheduling and can manage or cancel appointments using their confirmation number and contact information. The system requires verification through text message or email before confirming appointments. USPS fees apply in addition to Department of State fees for passport books and cards. All user information is protected under privacy policies outlined by the Privacy Act and USPS privacy policies.
