Residents in multiple Southeast Georgia counties are advised to slow down and use headlights this morning due to a Dense Fog Advisory. The National Weather Service (NWS) Charleston SC has issued this advisory, effective immediately until 9:00 AM EDT today, September 30, 2026.

Visibility is expected to be one-quarter mile or less in dense fog across the affected areas. These areas include Jenkins, Screven, Candler, Bulloch, Effingham, Tattnall, Evans, Long, Inland Bryan, Inland Chatham, Inland Liberty, Inland McIntosh, and Coastal McIntosh counties.

Low visibility can create hazardous driving conditions. The NWS recommends that anyone driving within these counties this morning reduce their speed, turn on their headlights, and maintain a safe following distance from other vehicles. The advisory is set to expire at 9:00 AM EDT.
